Original｜ Other Products ｜Portrait of Vini Reilly, Durutti Column - Promotional Photograph

Original promotional photograph of Vini Reilly, guitarist, composer, and founding member of The Durutti Column—the first and last band signed to Factory Records, releasing music throughout the label’s entire existence. Captured by photographer James Martin, this striking portrait presents Reilly in his trademark serious pose, wearing a textured black jumper, embodying the understated yet distinctive aesthetic of both his music and Factory itself.
As immortalised in 24 Hour Party People, The Durutti Column’s music was described as “good music to chill out to”—an understatement for the genius of Reilly, often hailed as one of the most innovative guitarists of his generation. This image is a rare piece of Factory-era promotional ephemera, offering collectors a direct connection to the label’s most enduring artist.
