GlenAllachie Virgin Oak Series 8 Year Old Scottish Oak Finish is part of a limited trilogy in which master distiller Billy Walker explored what brand-new oak from three different countries does to his Speyside spirit, and this is the homegrown chapter, finished in casks of rare virgin Scottish oak. Walker, who revived BenRiach and GlenDronach before buying GlenAllachie, built near Aberlour in 1967, in 2017, has made wood innovation the distillery's signature.Aged eight years and finished in Scottish oak, then bottled at 96 proof, non-chill-filtered and naturally colored, in a 700mL bottle, it offers oak, heather honey, toasted vanilla and orchard fruit on the nose, then a velvety palate of honeyed apple and pear woven with warm oak spice, toffee, cinnamon and a hint of dark chocolate, finishing balanced and enduring. Scottish oak is so scarce that releases like this are rare; a true collector's bottle.Buy GlenAllachie Virgin Oak Series 8 Year Scottish Oak Finish Speyside Single Malt Scotch online with fast shipping right to your door.
