Batch 22B is the Stagg batch enthusiasts name when they argue about the best one — 130 proof, the Winter 2022 release, the one reviewers say doesn't drink like 130 and gets better over thirty minutes in the glass. Stagg is Buffalo Trace's uncut, unfiltered barrel-proof bourbon from the low-rye Mashbill #1 — the same recipe as George T. Stagg, aged around seven to nine years instead of fifteen — launched as Stagg Jr. in 2013 and renamed Stagg with this batch's generation in 2022; batches are lettered by year and release, and each is a different proof. 22B is the nineteenth batch overall, bottled at 130 proof. Bourbon, Whiskey & Rye: caramel, fig, apple, and rich vanilla on the nose; vanilla, white pepper, raspberry jam, custard, brown sugar, cinnamon, leather, and oak on the palate; and a long finish of custard, vanilla, and oak — every reviewer on the panel loved it. Later reviews of 24B compare it back to 22B as the benchmark. Honest note: Stagg is allocated everywhere and 22B trades far above its $70 MSRP because the consensus is that it's a top-three batch — for the collector filling a run and the drinker who wants the one everyone talks about. Neat, thirty minutes in the glass, a drop of water. Stagg, 22B.Buy Stagg Bourbon Whiskey Batch 22B (130 Proof) online with fast shipping right to your door.
