Old Overholt Straight Rye Whiskey 114 Proof is the high-octane expression of America's oldest continuously produced whiskey brand, founded by Abraham Overholt in Pennsylvania in 1810 and now made by Beam Suntory at the Jim Beam Distillery in Clermont, Kentucky. First released as a limited edition in 2020, it proved popular enough to earn a permanent place in the lineup, and at its price it is one of the few 114 proof ryes that qualifies as an everyday bottle. It is a four-year-old Kentucky straight rye bottled at 114 proof, with no chill filtration. Breaking Bourbon rated the 2020 release 3 out of 5 and called it bold and nuanced, with spice and oak on the nose, oak, cherry, fresh-baked bread and tobacco leaf on the palate, and a finish of cereal grain, dry oak, leather and cigar box, adding that it made the reviewer wish Old Overholt would make it permanent, which the brand did. The proof gives it real presence in an Old Fashioned or a Boulevardier, and a splash of water opens it up nicely for sipping.Buy Old Overholt Straight Rye Whiskey 114 Proof online with fast shipping right to your door.
