Tres Generaciones Reposado is Sauza's triple-distilled tribute line rested four months in toasted American oak — the valley blanco given just enough barrel for the Margarita and the rocks glass. Don Cenobio Sauza founded the brand in 1873 and was the first to export tequila to the US; Tres Generaciones honors him, his son Don Eladio, and his grandson Don Francisco Javier, and Suntory makes it today at La Perseverancia, NOM 1102, in the town of Tequila. The Reposado is 100% blue Weber agave from the Tequila valley, cooked, triple-distilled, rested at least four months in toasted American oak, and bottled at 40% ABV in the tall bottle with the three portraits. Expect a nose of cooked agave, vanilla, and light caramel with a toasted-oak spice, opening into a smooth, rounded, gently sweet palate of agave, honey, and oak with a soft, warm finish. Honest note: a big-house valley reposado built for smoothness — sweeter and softer than the enthusiast bottles, for the drinker who wants a clean, no-burn reposado Margarita from the family that started tequila's export story.
