Selected Choice｜ Other Products ｜Lonnie Liston Smith: Expansions - Omakase Edits (Japan Import) Vinyl 7" - PRE-ORDER

"A new DJ unit formed by DJ KENTA and DJ SOULJAH, performing in a B2B (Back to Back) style, OMAKASE delivers the fourth installment of their DJ-focused edit series released on 7-inch, known for its outstanding floor-ready selections under the title 'OMAKASE 3-Minute Cooking'. This edition features selections and edits drawn from the rich catalog of jazz, soul, and funk grooves released by the legendary label FLYING DUTCHMAN. Keyboardist Lonnie Liston Smith, also known for his work with Pharoah Sanders’ band, released the undeniable rare groove masterpiece 'Expansions' in 1975, a celebrated Loft classic. This powerful track, also well known among hip-hop fans as the source sampled in Stetsasonic’s 'Talkin' All That Jazz', is newly edited with the break placed at the opening to build momentum and make it even more dancefloor-ready. On the B-side, the mellow jazz-funk track 'Summer Nights', famously sampled by Joey Bada$$ in his track of the same name, makes its world-first appearance on a 7-inch cut." - Octave
