Letherbee Distillers Autumnal Bergamot & Cocoa Nib Flavored Gin｜ Other Products

Letherbee Distillers Autumnal Bergamot & Cocoa Nib Gin is the 2021 fall seasonal from Letherbee, the independent Chicago distillery founded in 2011 and known for its anise-forward house gin, fernet and bësk. It starts with Letherbee's classic 11-botanical recipe (juniper, coriander, licorice, fennel, angelica, cubeb, lemon and orange peel, cinnamon, almond) distilled in a pot still from corn spirit, then adds dried bergamot peel, cold-pressed bergamot oil and cocoa nib. Bottled at 48% ABV (96 proof), roughly 190 cases were made. The bergamot brings a bright, fruity, floral lift that frames the juniper and coriander, while the cocoa nib adds depth and a comforting hit of baking spice. Letherbee designed it for bittersweet drinks, and it is superb with vermouth and amari: try it in a Negroni, a Hanky Panky or a Martinez.
