Weekend Selection｜Binson Echorec P.E.603-T Vari-speed modified｜ Other Products

Solid state disc echo modified with vari-speed. In excellent cosmetic condition, serviced and in superb working order.
Note that we also have a valve/tube PE 603 Echorec for sale. See our other listings.
The PE 603 series were the most rugged and advanced machines Binson ever produced essentially an Echorec 2 housed in a very robust and heavy metal case.
This one's just back from a total mechanical and electrical refurbishment/rebuild, including a full rewire and addition of a vari-speed control (via a pot on the rear). The machine has been carefully set up and the heads aligned for optimum performance: operationally this machine is in superb order.
Excellent cosmetic condition overall, only let down by some wear and tear to the finish on the case. The face, internal surfaces and disc are all very clean - see the photos for more information.
The motor starts well and spins happily and without issue. It will go into self-oscillation very swiftly on certain settings if required (this can be adjusted via the internal trimpot for more subtle or extreme effects, but it's been set-up for optimum performance) and it's capable of all sorts of cosmic noises - Binsons do tend to encourage experimental noise-mongering. The repeats are not hifi - this is after all 50 year-old technology - if you want perfect repeats buy a digital delay.
It is switchable between 110v/240v.
For sales in UK/EU the price will include VAT. VAT-free sales are possible to businesses and individuals in the EU (outside the UK) with a valid VAT Number - please get in touch if you wish to buy this way.
Soundgas are vintage echo experts. We've sold many excellent Echorecs over the past twelve years to very satisfied customers; we understand how they should sound and function. In our experience, most Binsons sold as being in working condition (even ones that are sold as serviced or rewired) are not up to scratch. Echorecs require a technician with a rare combination of technological skills: tape/recording, valves, mechanics and electronics.
We guarantee that this machine will not disappoint.
The YouTube demos below give an idea of what one of these machines can do - first is a guitar demo, followed by the Funkbox 808 for some more serious abuse…
(The demos are of a previous Binson we sold - demos of this machine to follow.)
